On October 22 the general assembly of all students take place, in Audimax 1 from 1 to 3 pm. The general assemblys of the student coundils take place one week later, on October 29, from 1 to 3 pm as well.
Why are these assemblys so important?
- They are the highest decision-making body for students. This means that here you can tell your elected representatives what you want and what is important to you.
- Here you can find information about the issues currently being addressed by your representatives and the current status of these issues.
What are they discussing?
The AStA and the student councils take care of your concerns throughout the year. This ranges from lab coats for laboratory hours to various events and university policy issues. One recurring topic, for example, is the semester ticket and the Germany ticket. Others may include space problems, exam issues, or missing modules. In any case, you will receive reports on the status quo and can contribute your own wishes and questions.
Why are there no lectures during those two hours?
This is stipulated by the Higher Education Act so that all students can participate in the meetings without disadvantage. This time is therefore not intended for you to go for coffee, but for you to exercise your democratic right to co-determination and self-determination.
