Students at Hamburg universities who can prove to be in financial need due to the Corona pandemic can once again apply online for an interest-free loan of 400 euros per month in time for the start of the 2020 winter semester. The loan can be applied for in each case for the months of October, November and December at the Studierendenwerk Hamburg. The Hamburg Assistance Fund serves to support students quickly and unbureaucratically and is intended to help cover basic living needs.
Applications can be submitted online from October 28th
Students enrolled at a Hamburg state or state-recognized university are eligible to apply. This also includes enrolled students of the state-recognized Hamburger Fern-Hochschule and the Europäische Fernhochschule Hamburg who reside in Hamburg. Applications can be made in each case for the current month, first from 28.10.2020 for the month of October 2020. Repayment of the loan is to begin no earlier than twelve months after the end of the month for which the loan was first granted and is to be made in installments of 50 euros per month. Important for BAföG recipients: The loan is not counted towards BAföG requirements.
