WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION: Studying in crisis regions

We are asking for your contributions for the exhibition “Studying in Crisis Regions” until March 15. By participating, you will enable others to gain insight into your reality and exhibit it in the main building of the Technical University of Hamburg.

What is it about?

The exhibition displays texts and photographs about studying under conditions of crisis, war, or conflict. The focus is on studying in a crisis zone with highlights on individual experiences: everyday life, fears, hope, resilience, doubts.

Who can participate?

The following are especially invited:

  • Students who are currently studying or have previously studied in regions affected by crisis, war, or conflict
  • Students whose education is directly affected by political, social, or military crises
  • People with close personal ties to such study experiences

Contributions can be made anonymously.

What contributions are possible?

  • Texts (e.g., experience reports, diary entries, short essays)
  • photos
  • or a combination of text and image

Languages: German or English (other languages are also possible and will be translated if necessary).

All contributions should have a clear connection to the course of study and to life in a crisis context.

Important Notice

  • The exhibition aims to promote respect, sensitivity, and diversity of perspectives.
  • Political propaganda, hate speech, or incitement to violence are prohibited.
  • All submissions will be reviewed and curated in advance by a committee.
  • The copyrights remain entirely with the authors.

Detailed information on guidelines, selection procedures, and data protection can be found on the right.

Why participate?

With your contribution:

  • you give space to experiences that often remain invisible
  • you contribute to greater empathy and understanding in the university context
  • you will be part of a collaborative student exhibition at the TUHH
