White walls always seem to invite people to scribble on them. It usually doesn't look very nice. That's why we're launching the second round of “Painting Aquariums” to spruce up our rooms and eliminate any further temptation to scribble on them.
There are so many creative people at TU that we want to let them take charge of designing the walls in the study rooms in Building A (1st floor, known as the “Aquariums”). So, submit your proposals!
The rules:
- You are willing to implement your proposals yourself
- Upload your proposals as PDFs (max. 2 walls per person) to our Cloud by July 17, 2026 (accessible only via eduroam / VPN); please don’t forget to include your name and email address
- If you’d like, you can name a room you want to decorate (e.g., by using the room’s name as a theme)
- The design of the wall is up to you—you can use any technique you like
- You’ll receive a budget of up to €200 from the AStA for materials to bring your designs to life. Don’t forget to sign your work!
- Please refrain from using AI-generated images and projections. You may use Photoshop or other tools to prepare your work, but the creative process should remain intact.
Here is the schedule:
- Applications can be submitted until July 17 (see above)
- During exam week, we’ll let you study in peace while we review the submissions and prepare them for voting.
- At the general assembly on October 21, 2026, the winners will be voted on and the prizes awarded. First place will receive €200, second place €100, and third place €50.
- You can start painting as of October 26, 2026. If you want to start before the award ceremony, that’s fine too.
We look forward to seeing your artwork!
